When Analisa first reached out to me about potentially photographing her wedding, I was beyond excited. She and Jimmy’s big day would be my first Charlotte-based wedding, which gave me hope that moving an already well-established photography business wouldn’t be completely starting from scratch. And as we communicated more, I truly connected with her personality and zest for life! So when she asked if I would be willing to meet her and Jimmy in Pheonixville, PA (their current home), I was totally down!
It was even more fun because I was able to bring one of my dear friends, Vanessa, along to assist for the day! (And she let me stay at her home in York and fed me, but yanno, no biggie. hehe)
Analisa and Jimmy truly took us on an adventure session because I had NEVER been to Pheonixville nor ever heard of it! We explored an abandoned industrial site, practiced stage sword play (Did I mention Analisa is an actress and trained in stage duals? So rad!), played with their sweet pup, walked through the forest and overall had the BEST time! One of my favorite moments was walking to find the abandoned industrial site, which took a bit longer than expected, and right as I was about to joke about being thankful I brought along a friend just in case they were crazy people, Analisa announced, “Don’t worry, we’re almost there. We promise we aren’t killers.” It may be a dark sense of humor, but definitely was said in good fun. Because really, most photographers who don’t get the chance to meet their clients in person and only get to chat on the phone can be leary about their photo session and have those thoughts.
It was an INCREDIBLE evening together, and I CANNOT wait until their wedding next year in Nantahala National Forest!
P.s. you should check out Analisa’s incredible handmade jewelry, Seamless Southworth. She wore one of her pieces during our session, and goodness it was breathtaking!
