Whenever I share my couple’s stories, I often have great difficulty succinctly putting into words the beauty of their story and the emotions I had the pleasure of absorbing on their special days. Brittany and Riley’s elopement to the Linville Gorge Wilderness is one that is extra special because of how their kindness has so fully impacted my life on another level.
When Corey and I were moving to the Charlotte, North Carolina area, we were beyond nervous for such a big leap in our marriage and we’re slightly concerned that we would have a hard time making new friends on our new adventure. I expressed this concern on social media (I’m a millennial afterall), and Riley just so happened to be following me at the time (SEO for the win!). He reached out to me and invited us to join him and his girlfriend, Brittany, at Lucky Dog Bark and Brew to socialize our pups and get to know one another. Ever since then they have been great friends that we without fail make memories together that will last a lifetime.
When Riley asked me to photograph his proposal and then their elopement, I couldn’t help but feel elated! The trek up the mountain to Linville Gorge was nothing short of thrilling (and little nervewracking with Brittany’s mom’s skilled yet bumpy driving!), and after we hiked to the place where they ultimately exchanged their vows, my breath was taken away. (Partially because of the hike I’m sure–haha!)
While surrounded by an expansive mountain range, beautiful foliage and five humans, Brittany and Riley bonded themselves together for eternity.
Excuse me while I go wipe the tears from my eyes again…
